NOIR is an African inspired ready-to-wear fashion brand that is defined by style and not a culture. In January 2014, creative designer Ndeyfatou Ceesay founded the brand which is a mixture of bohemian chic trends, incorporating intricate West African techniques in the detailing. In November of the same year she opened The Boutique. In the short year since its creation the brand Noir has made quite the impact in the The Gambia. Being the daughter of a noted fashion designer, her mother was instrumental in teaching her everything she knows about the art of design. NOIR is colour and alluring silhouettes, a signature that has made the brand a firm favorite with her clientele. Aspiring to continue producing quality garments that capture as well as influence market trends and remain timeless globally. Createing ethnic sophistication and as illustrated by her logo, aim to be the unmistakable and unmatched elephant in the room.
On the 25th of July she will b joined other Entrepreneurs in Nairobi, Kenya at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), which the President of The United States, Barack Obama is attended. In 2009 during a historic speech in Cairo, Egypt, President Obama firmly placed entrepreneurship at the forefront of the United States’ agenda. She is hoping to meet or at least catch a glimpse of Barack Obama when in Kenya. However her focus remains ensuring that NOIR continues to produce quality garments that capture as well as influence market trends and are timeless globally.
On the 8th of August 2015 , NOIR will open the Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) showcase for the day, with an exquisite new collection aptly titled EMBEADED. Still a baby elephant in comparison to some of the other brands taking the AFWL catwalk, NOIR is the product of manifested dreams and followed aspirations.
