Lasting Solutions Institute of Management and Technology, a platinum Microsoft IT and Cisco Academy, recently organized its first IT competition at its institution. The Institute empowers students with skills needed to become world-class ICT professionals. Being the first of its kind, Lasting Solution advertised for candidates to compete and ten candidates were chosen among the applicants.
Participants were given difficult IT questions to answer, and the judges were eventually able to filter the contestants to five. Five contestants moved to round two, which was on hardware. At the end of the competition, Ismaila Joof emerged first winner and he was given a scholarship valued at D20, 000 to study any course at Lasting Solutions. Abubakar Sowe emerged second winner and received a Hard Drive valued at D10, 000 while the third winner Modou Faye got a Hard Drive valued at D5000.
The event was graced by the CEO of lasting solutions, Njundu Fatty; director of business development, Alhaji Mbowe; director of operations and head of training, Abdoulie Sowe; Abu Bockarie – training manager and Almami Taal, legal practitioner. CEO Njundu Fatty noted that the world we live in is an IT driven world and the full participation of the youths of The Gambia in ICT is paramount.
