Senegalese singer Thione Seck is under police custody after being accused of possessing counterfeit notes to the tune of fifty million Euros. Seck is helping Senegalese detectives with their investigations. He was due to perform in Banjul with his son Wally Seck, but that show has been called off due to his recent legal debacle.
Thione Seck’s home was raided by Gendarmerie officers, following the apprehension of an Ivorian man, who was also allegedly linked to the counterfeit racketeering. The Ivorian man, allegedly implicated Papa Thione Seck in his statement to the police, which subsequently prompted the police raid on Seck’s home. Detectives allegedly found fifty million Euros fake bank notes at Thione’s home.Seck was arrested and booked overnight. He is still under custody.
The Elite modelling company was responsible for the Wally Seck show. She said people would be entitled for refund of their money if the show is cancelled. One of the shows was going to be held at Sunwing hotel, while the other at the independence stadium in Bakau. She said Wally was supposed to celebrate the second phase of his birthday in Banjul after celebrating one in Senegal.
