Scorpions’ midfielder Ablie Jallow has netted twice during his French side Metz FC 6-3 home defeat over Guingamp FC in their week-8 fixture of the French Ligue 2 played at the Stade Saint-Symphorien on Monday.

The 23-year-old scored his side’s (Metz) second and third goals before opening the lead through Vincent Manceau own-goal in the 2nd minute of the game.

The Bundung-born player has featured in every game of the club’s eight Ligue 2 matches in 2022/2023 and accumulated 529 minutes of playing time.

The Gambian international started in six of the eight league games for Metz and came on as a substitute on two occasions so far.

He so far netted three goals in the Ligue 2 campaign, which ranks him joint ninth overall in this category in 2022/2023, while also making him the second-top league scorer for his side.

Ablie Jallow scored his first goal of the season against Valenciennes in a 2-0 victory on August 13.

Metz find themselves eighth in the standings with 11 points and next face a trip to Bastia in Ligue 2 action on September 17.

Meanwhile, Jallow returned to Metz in July 2022 after a loan spell at RFC Seraing, for whom he made 44 league appearances in total, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.
