Abdoulie Bojang former independent candidate who contested during the previous parliamentary elections for the Foni Kansala constituency said The Gambia is sinking under the leadership of President Adama Barrow.

Speaking to The Voice Mr. Bojang said to address the current situation in the country and devise a solution to the problem, there is a need for national dialogue between religious leaders, politicians, and civil society organizations in order to guide the leadership of President Barrow on the right path for development.

Backing up his argument on some of the current burning issues which the country is facing such as the poor education system, the deplorable health condition, and the poor economy he said there is high time to address the situation in order to give hope to the citizens.

According to him, corruption, unemployment, and the high price of basic commodities are skyrocketing every day and the government is adamant to address the situation, saying Gambians should stand up and address the situation.

“Government should do the needful in order to avert subsequent protest in the future; the country is getting harder every day and the government is making no efforts to ensure the burden is reduced rather than making empty promises,” he advised.
