The former Inspector General of police Essa Badjie is fighting for his life. Badjie is critically ill. He has been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul.
Sources familiar with the story said the police chief had a surgery last night. The surgery went well, and he is currently admitted at the EFSTH ICU.
Known as Jesus Badjie, sources couldn’t tell us the exact nature of Badjie’s medical condition. But the same sources said Badjie is seriously sick.
Jesus was reinstated into the police, following the fall of dictator Jammeh. He had briefly served at the police headquarters before he was moved to the Upper River Region as police commissioner for that Division.
Meanwhile, police commissioner Gorgi Mboob too is sick. He was last week hospitalized.
