Yankuba Darboe, Chairman of the Brikama Area Council (BAC), has nominated eight people to represent different interest groups and communities on the council. This is in accordance with the Local Government Act, which requires that the council be made up of representatives from a variety of sectors. Darboe is still waiting for the chiefs to send in their representative.

The chairman has announced the full list of nominees, except for the chief’s representative, who has not yet submitted their nominee. Below is the list of nominees and the communities they will be representing on the council:

Chairman Yankuba Darboe revealed that they are currently in the final stages of the process, with the only remaining step being the chiefs sending in their representative. Once this is done, they will proceed to submit the aforementioned list of nominees to the Ministry of Lands, Regional Governments, and Religious Affairs for confirmation.
