Alasana Camara and his thugs were armed with cutlasses and locally made guns when they stormed the village, executing what they called a demolition order on behalf of  the “Mano estate of Sam.”  Many homes were reportedly illegally demolished during that exercise. Camara and co do not have any court order to justify the demolitions, this medium was told.

The attackers were mainly foreigners from Mali.  They were led by Alasana Camara.

Past initial attempts to demolish the houses in that locality was greeted with resistance by the community. Soldier Yoba Jallow was at work, when he was informed that his house was among the demolished houses. He later visited the scene, where he found that part of his house was partially demolished. Few days later, the demolition team headed by this Malian guy Alasana Camara, showed up at the village and demolished soldier Jallow’s house to the ground. Other properties were also demolished to the ground.

While Jallow was talking to the media about what happened to his property, Camara and his mob accosted them. The mob were dressed in military outfits, some had cutlasses and other deadly traditional weapons with them. They then started throwing stones at the villagers. Soldier Jallow suffered a broken leg, the local village Kabilo head Alhagie Jobe, and pregnant woman one Jankey were also severely injured. Jobe was hit on the head with a stone. He was unconscious for hours. The injured villagers were hospitalized.

Councilor Alieu Darboe was the one, who facilitated the media presence in the village. He wanted soldier Jallow and the other villagers to recount their own side of the story.
