A Real Estate Developer Sam has been arrested by the police. His arrest has to do with the Bafuloto incident, which left some villagers critically injured. Among the injured villagers were: Sergeant Yoba Jallow of The Gambia Armed Forces, Alhagie Jobe, the Kabilo head of village, a pregnant woman, and many others.

Sam was alleged to have hired the services of some armed Malian migrants living in The Gambia to demolish people’s homes in Bafuloto. The UDP Brikama Councilor Alieu Darboe was present when the attack happened. Bafuloto villagers suspect that the Councilor was acting in concert with Sam to have Yoba and co ambushed by the Malian thugs.

Meanwhile, Sam’s supporters have stormed the premises of the Farato police station. They have been insulting the police and disturbing the peace. The belligerent crowd spent the night at the Farato station. They said they wouldn’t leave the station until Sam was released from custody.

It is not clear if Sam has been charged, but we can report with authority he had been detained.

In meantime, the Farato police have arrested the wife of Alhagie Jobe Yassin. She was arrested together with one Yamundow, the wife of Amat Gaye. Amat Gaye is Alhagie Jobe’s nephew. The two ladies spent the night at the Farato police station with their kids yesterday.
