The GFF 1st Division League last weekend produced some interesting results as Banjul United walloped Falcons 3-1 while Gambia Armed Forces FC thumped Steve Biko 4-1.
Banjul Utd. and Falcons entertained crowds at Serekunda East Mini-stadium with Mansour Mbye and Yunusa Ceesay playing instrumental roles in the city boys’ victory. Mansour opened the scoresheet after converting a penalty. The match went into the first half break and Yunusa Ceesay found the back of the net 15 minutes after the resumption. The 84th-minute goal from Falcon’s substitute Baba Ceesay came too little, too late as Banjul United’s substitute Baba Ceesay had already consolidated his side’s victory with a goal from the penalty area.
Meanwhile, large crowds watched the goalless match between TMT FC and Team Rhino at KG 5 in Banjul. Both sides are unbeaten with four points they secured in their wins in week one of the league.
