The celebration is holding under the theme: Strengthening Safety & Professional Conduct of Journalists & Media Houses, and it will be held in collaboration with the Media Council of The Gambia (MCG) and the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication (MAJaC).

The forum aims to address the risks that journalists face and to promote safety-conscious editorial boards across newsrooms within the media industry in The Gambia.

The forum is targeted at mainly media managers, newsroom editors, and reporters from various media houses, including newspapers, radio, television, and online media.

It is an opportunity for media professionals to discuss current safety practices, be able to develop in-house safety guidelines, or adopt the safety tools developed by the GPU.
