Lawyer Ousainu Darboe, Secretary General and party leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP), said he was shocked that the entire Gambian Legal Advisory system at the Ministry of Justice could not understand a statement he made at a political event in Gunjur.
“I was shocked that the Entire Gambian Legal Advisory system could not understand my statement. They could not understand the purport of my statement, and they went on a personal attack on me. I was attacking government policy, and government decisions, I wasn’t attacking any individual. And I have every right and every Gambian citizen has a right to disagree with government decisions and give their reasons. I gave my reasons,” the UDP leader said.
Lawyer Ousainu Darboe, the Secretary-General and party leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP) made these remarks on the premiere of Kerr Fatou’s weekly show, The Grand Bantaba, on Friday. He was reacting to the statement released by the Ministry of Justice that condemned remarks he made about the establishment of the commission of inquiry into the conduct of local government councils at a political event in Gunjur.
