Justice Basiru VP Mahoney, on Tuesday, ordered the Deputy of Public Prosecution, AM Yusuf of the Attorney General’s office to bring his witness to the court in the ongoing treason trial involving eight people accused of a coup plot against the democratically elected government led by President Adam Barrow.

The state counsel, AM Yusuf in his submission said that his witness traveled out of the country, and pleaded for an adjournment to enable him to secure the witness before the court.

This ignited the relatives of all the accused to grumble for a speedy and fair trial and become sorrowful as they looked at their relatives at the dock while their expectations for a continuation of the proceeding failed.

However, Justice Basiru VP Mahoney ordered Counsel AM Yusuf to provide his witness on the next adjournment date while the matter was adjourned to 21st March 2023 at 2:00 pm for continuation.
