The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Electoral Committee announced that both incumbent, Lamin Kabba Bajo and challenger, Sadibou Kamaso have fulfilled nomination criteria for the GFF presidential election on 27th August 2022.
“The Electoral Committee of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) wishes to inform the members of the GFF and the general public that following the closure of nomination of candidates for the Executive Committee positions in the August 27, 2022 Elections, the Committee has conducted a thorough review of the nominations in line with the Electoral Code, the Constitution of the GFF and the FIFA Code of Ethics.

“Following a thorough screening by the Electoral Committee in its sitting of Friday 29th July, 2022, the Committee is pleased to announce that all the nominations received have met the criteria to be nominated. In this regard, in line with Article 12.3 of the Electoral Code, the Electoral Committee is publishing the nominated candidates as follows,” the Committee said on Friday.
Incumbent Lamin Kabba Bajo was nominated by BK Milan FC; URRFA; Steve Biko FC; Gambia Armed Forces FC; Bombada FC; & Brikama United FC; While his opposition Sadibou Kamaso was nominated by Young Africans FC; & Greater Tomorrow FC.
On the nominations for the position of First Vice President, Mr. Bakary K. Jammeh of ‘Team Kabba’ was nominated by Real de Banjul FC; & NBRFA; while Mr. Arthur Olu Ashcroft of ‘Team Restore Confidence’ was nominated by Gambia Ports Authority FC.
On the Nominations for the position of Second Vice President, Mr. Ebou Faye of ‘Team Kabba’ was nominated by Banjul United FC; Waa Banjul FC; Hawks FC; Red Hawks FC; While Mrs. Choro Jobe Mbenga of ‘Team Restore Confidence’ was nominated by Tallinding United FC.
On the nominations for the position of Third Vice President, Mr. Numukunda Kanyi of ‘Team Kabba’ was nominated by CRRFA; & Medical FC; while Ms. Mahamadou Ceesay of ‘Team Restore Confidence’ was nominated by Wagadu FC 1 Nomination.
