National Assembly Back to Business, Features President Barrow Thursday

The Gambia National Assembly has resumed its third ordinary session after going on recess for a month. With business resuming at the national hemicycle, Gambian lawmakers will go on sessions to review bills and reports of various committees. They will also hear government officials through questions and answers.

In the same vein, President Adama Barrow shall attend the sitting of the National Assembly this Thursday to deliver his State of the Nation Address (SoNA). It is the moment the President talks to lawmakers on the condition of The Gambia as a nation and presents the government’s policies and the administration of the state.

The State of the Nation Address (SoNA) is a constitutional obligation and a yearly tradition. The chief executive reports on the country’s status unveil the government’s agenda for the coming year and propose to the National Assembly legislating certain laws.
