The Awards is one of the biggest for Gambian women leaders, which seeks to inspire girls through role models.
This year’s award is slated for 4 March 2023 in anticipation of the commemoration of International Women’s Day, under the theme: ‘Celebrating Frontliners Against SGBV’.
According to a statement by the Awards organisers, an independent committee would analyse the nominations submitted based on the criteria and categories. “The committee shall then shortlist and submit the final list of nominees for each of the categories which will be published on our social media platforms,” the statement says.
“The nominees must be women only (or girls as specified under the category), must be outstanding in the field for which they wish to nominate themselves and must have a positive impact on society through their work in the year in review, with focus on impact made in the theme of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV).”Deadline for the submission of nominations, the statement notes, is 20 January 2023.
