President Adama Barow has urged “good samaritans” to assistance families affected by last night windstorm in most parts of the country.
“President urges good samaritans to support in any way they can to ease the burden on affected families while his Government assesses the needed support,” he urged in a statement earlier today.
The Head of State has also extended condolences to the affected families as well as empathised with them, according to the statement.
“President Barrow extends his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families that lost their loved ones and empathise with victims, and all those affected throughout the country,” the statement added.
It also stated that Barrow has sermoned an emergency meeting to conduct a rapid assessment of the damages in order to advise the Government accordingly.
This development followed the windstorm that caused loss of lives and property to many families and individuals, following the destruction on Wednesday night by the windstorm in different parts of the country.
The natural disaster has also disrupted electricity, water, and other services in the Greater Banjul Area.
